DIY Inspiration: Skeleton Key Necklaces from EPBOT here (with some tips and links on how they were made). A few years ago I bought a bag filled with literally hundreds of old skeleton keys that I have never known what to do with. I had some of the really unusual skeleton keys cast in sterling silver for myself and friends that I hung as pendants on ball chain necklaces. But I really love the way Jen’s necklaces turned out and never thought of hanging the keys horizontally. *Tip: These keys are heavy if they are the real thing. You will need a fairly sturdy chain. I also packaged mine as gifts with each note reading something like, “the key to your success” for a friend starting a new job, “the key that opens all new doors” for a friend moving into a new place, “the key to new adventures”, “the key to new beginnings” and I could go on and on.
